How to grow?

by Damadm00

Growing is one of the most important things in Alliances At War. The more acres you get, the more homes your tribe can have. They provide citizens, which will give you more income, and those citizens can also be used to train military units. Military is the most important thing for your tribe! More explanation about military units will be found in the next part of this manual.

To keep it short, the more acres you have, the more power you will have. And the more power you have, the more people will be afraid of you. That is the whole meaning behind a war game.

So there are mainly 2 ways to grow in Alliances At War: attacking and exploring. There is another way to grow but this way is only available for 6 races, which is by magic.
Here is a short explanation:

Attacking

This is one of the main ways to get bigger. It is a lot of fun to grow by attacking others but the downside of this way is that you need to be pretty active to be an effective attacker. The main goal as attacker is getting as many military units as possible so you can invade other players around your own size.

Exploring

The other main way of getting bigger is exploring. This way is a bit less attractive then attacking though this way is possible to combine with thievery and magic. You can go full-time explorer or a combination with thieves and/or mage. Thieves and mages will most likely grow by exploring because they don't want to waste money on offensive military units. Exploring is cheaper for them because they will need too many military units when they want to attack.
One of the nice things about being an explorer is that the activity required is a lot lower.
The main goal of a full-time explorer is to live on the edge of getting attacked but not getting attacked, all the time, while they keep on growing as fast as possible.

Magic

This way of growing can only be used by The Elves and The Winged. They can use their race specific self-spell to gain acres but the amount of acres they will gain is not very high. The races with this spell will, for most of the time, have it active as much as possible. Though their primary way of growing is either by attacking or exploring.

Thievery

Using the thieves’ self op “Land Claim” thieves can grow by sending at least 1 thief per their own acre. This is mostly used by large sized thieves, above 4000 acres, who already trained a lot of thieves. Sometimes it can be the only way to grow—if you have too few citizens to explore due to all your thieves.
