err guys, why not implement something in the alli news that lets you click on the attack and you can read the proper attack report received by the attacker? of course, it should only be available for attacks done by your alli mates on your own alli news | |

what for?so there'll be no need to do another op and calculate how much troops were killed?
well..maybe.. |

If you need to know - ask the person who attacked/defended.

Plan is there. The technology is not.
To properly do so we'd have to change/code quite a lot. Well we could of course add the same data as from the attack reports inside the alli news, that's hardly any work but simply doing it like that would give too much data in the alli news. So it would need some expanding features etc. |

Can't you just do the same thing as what you did with TM ops?
But, maybe not with the Archive style display.. but, like WG said - a link in the alli news to take you to the detailed report.

I'm absolutely not a fan of adding a seperate page just to read a bit more data. Which you'll almost never do.
Seperate data also always means saving more data. I think the easiest would be to make it like it currently is but with a little scripting in it to hide a part of the data until you click on it. That way it can be saved in just 1 place like it is now. Of course makes it a bit slower, more is always slower(check alliance 10 for example :p makes it slow even though I disabled output for quite some elements on it) Could be compensated to make a pager like there is on the forums and bug tracker(so only show max 30 or so reports per page) |

okay, bear with me, when I throw out ideas I go all the way with them.
I've always wished there was a section in the archives that showed recent (say 48 hours?) attacks made by your alliance members... heck I would love a section showing recent spell/ops while we are at it. I'd even go as far as to say we COULD USE a “total results last tick” thing showing the total damage output (goods and buildings, possibly military losses for the target as well) that your alliance did in spells/ops/attacks last tick.. like “ Totals this Tick target A: X Homes, Y Farms, Z food target B: etc... ” then when you clicked on a target, have a drop-down that breaks down who did what damage, and how, like, “ Totals this tick Target A: X Homes, Y Farms, Z food, etc ---- Alliance Member A - Raze: X Homes ---- Alliance Member B - DM: X homes, Y farms ---- Alliance Member C - Poison: Z Food Target B: etc... ” and have each individuals tribe name link to a page specific to their ops/spells/attacks pertaining to that target for that tick, showing the results for each like we get currently. possibly sum the ops/spells total casts, fails, successes, and damage(like if you cast 50 DM attempts spread out across multiple tries throughout the tick) so it doesn't get tooo messy, just sum it to total casts, fails, successes, and damage. Hell, throw in a success rate, failrate, damage per spell/op, etc when the appropriate numbers/word for each are highlighted. also, in addition to having that, have it be able to select a target tribe and have an extended “total results” showing your alliances spells, ops, attacks, and their damage totals for that target for a selected time range (you pick starting/ending ticks via a convenient tool you design of course) and have it break down damage per player, and op links and all just like above except for any time duration you choose (up to 48 hours or whatever is maximum). this would allow you to see everyone's participation on kill attempts that are spread across multiple ticks. i mean, why not take all the math/thinking outta things? I know its a lot of work, but its worth it if we can all be lazy! haha. You think I'm kidding, don't you? If its feasible, i DEMAND that you do it! if its a ton of work, you could try to use it as incentive for people to sponsor the game (become a dragon or however you want to put it). as in, request people to support Orkfia financially in return for your hard work developing the game. its been a while since I've seen new dragons around :P. ~aqua P.S. in all seriousness, there are times when you accidentally navigate away from the results page for ops, spells, or attacks, and it would be nice to re-access them to share, better yet if its archived somehow so others in alliance can see freely. honestly, if you could make all of the above happen easily, or if there was a large enough player base to justify the extra work, I would say do it all for sure. |

there's one brilliant op showing the result of your toils. It's named recon.

lol it does it's job, but it takes math. some people cant handle math(seriously? yea, seriously), or would rather not have to. and it doesn't break down who did what damage and stuff. mmmmmkay??
i think its totally worth giving HaRRy a coding heart attack to spare me bustin' out the calc.exe and asking for spell/op reports from ally members.. aha Really though, I would love to see the archives have more uses like these, the attack/spell/op results are already generated in a usable, way, it wouldn't be bad to just find a way to save, organize, and present them in the archives. difficult? probably. Nothing bad ever came from brainstorming right? right? and recon is just an annoyingly over-hyped helmet you get in Halo 3.. |
